I wish to go to Mexico City

Jacqueline is a bubbly 8-year-old who displays insight and maturity beyond her years. Throughout her time in treatment for osteosarcoma, a type of bone tumor, she often spoke with her father about their native country of Mexico, and about her late mother who is buried there. She developed a deep appreciation for her heritage and was thrilled when the Make-A-Wish Foundation^® of Orange County & the Inland Empire, with help from Betty Crocker ^®, granted her wish to visit Mexico.

Jacqueline spent a week in Hidalgo, a town near Mexico City. She was able to visit extended family and her mother’s grave, which was a very important experience for her. One of Jacqueline’s favorite memories was when she went to the Basilica de La Virgin de Guadalupe pilgrimage in Mexico City with her relatives. She spent an entire day touring the Basilica and participating in the pilgrimage festivities. Jacqueline had a wonderful time becoming reacquainted with her extended family and hearing stories about her mother.

Jacqueline’s father said the week was filled with incredible, meaningful moments that he knows his daughter will joyfully remember for a very long time.
