Ramekins - What to make in them?

I have Holiday Ramekins 4 3/4" x 2" but I'm not sure what to make in them. I was going to give them out as Holiday Gifts. Does anyone have any yummy ideas. Big Smile

Creme Caramel is devine for a desert. (it's kind of a french version of flan). Paula Deen also has a wonderfull recipe for shrimp and grits where you bake the grits in ramekins and then chil so it makes a pretty presentation with the shrimp and sauce on the top. the most common use is for custards. Keep them, I wish I still had mine that I lost in a move years ago. Once you find the recipes you will find that they are most usefull. You can also heat butter in them for individual portions with shell fish.

Hi Kitty143Cat:

Glad to have you on the boards. I love Ramekins- because you really can do so much with them.

If they are oven proof you can make a brownie in them. Here is a link where this convo started:

Here is a link that talks about gifts with them:

You could also fill them up with a holiday chex mix, trail mix or different types of chocolates.

Also, we have these recipes on Betty Crocker:

My mom sometimes put jello in little custard cups and they would create a simple dessert presentation.

Hope this helps or inspires! Let us know what you ended up doing with them!

Sincerely, Cate

Hi Kitty143Cat, There nice to make individual deserts, serve fruit cocktail/ salad in them. I like to make apple dumplings in them, that way you can serve them to. There nice for dips, if your making several. Lots of luck, Granna2
