dense cakes

I have recently started making cakes and I have a set of cake pans that require a pound cake or dense cake in order to hold together.  Is there a way to simply modify or add an ingredient to make a box mix denser?  I found a recipe for a lemon pound cake that used a lemon cake mix then added cream cheese and I wondered if that could be done with all flavors to create the same density.  PLEASE HELP

How to Make a Pound Cake Fom a Cake Mix:

Wilton says: This one works wonderfully for a stand-up bear pan or similar cake where you need the cake to be able to hold up well. This makes a spongy type of cake, really moist thoughout and good - and it will cut well. Use whatever flavor pudding mix that compliments cake mix you are using.

Pound Cake Recipe from Cake Mix:
1 box any flavor cake mix
1 small box (4 serving size) instant pudding mix, dry
1 cup whole milk
1 cup Crisco oil
4 large eggs

Blend ingredients for about 1 minute on low then 2 minutes on medium, scraping sides of bowl often. Bake for around the regular time frame, but at 325 degrees. Additional baking time may be required because of the amount of oil and liquids.

The Cake Doctor:
1 box yellow cake mix
1 small box instant pudding mix, dry
1 cup whole milk
1 cup vegetable oil, such as canola, safflower, corn, soybean or sunflower
4 large eggs

Duncan Hines:
1 box cake mix
1 small box instant pudding and pie filling, dry
4 large eggs
1 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil

Any 2-layer cake mix
1 small box instant pudding, dry
4 eggs
1/2 cup (1 stick) melted butter OR 1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup liquid water OR milk

Here's a recipe for Cream Cheese Pound Cake using SuperMoist cake mix: www.bettycrocker.com/.../24f21c73-840d-489d-80ce-c6c1651e5cdd.  I think the yellow cake mix could probably be substituted with other SuperMoist flavors too.  And here's a pound cake recipe that you might like too using Bisquick: www.bettycrocker.com/.../656385e4-dbff-446d-9db1-6959d827d187
