Jam in the middle

I am making a cake for tomorrow and I want to put Strawberry Jam in the middle.  I plan to cut the cake in half. My question the jam has been in the fridge, do I need to bring it to room temp before I put it on the cake.

You shouldn't have to just stir the jam first to thin it out.

The jam needs to be at room temprature before spreading.

If you are going to cut the cake in half you need to freeze the cake after you slice it because if you dont you will tear the cake with the thick gooey jam and it will help to heat the jam slighly to make it spread easier.
