Tofu Ideas

How do you use tofu in your dinners?

I like tofu because it's not expensive and it's a fun change up from chicken and beef. There are a few recipes on here: http://www.bettycrocker.com/how-to/glossary/Ingredients/S-U/T/Tofu.htm

Looking for some other ideas though and would love to know your favorite toful meals!

Sincerely, Cate

I made these last summer for the grill- and thought they were quick and fun. Now that it's getting warmer out- I'll probably play around with this recipe.... maybe add some corn or green peppers.

I'd like to cook tofu with some ground turkey with a touch of spring onions and minced garlic. A dash of salt, pepper and the low sodium kikoman soy sauce.

First, I stir fry the 1 lb. of ground turkey (or any ground meat of your choice) and garlic for about 7 to 10 minutes until it is golden brown. Then add 3 to 4 tbsp of soy sauce, 1 tsp of salt and 1/2 tsp of pepper. Then add about 3 tbsp of water and the tofu(cubed). Simmer for another 5 to 7 minutes. Sprinkle this with minced spring onions before serving. Done! Smile

We eat fried tofu with beansprouts in our house.

Slice the tofu into small thin squares and fry in oil until it changes color. Pour in bean sprouts and stir until a bit tender.

Add garlic salt, salt and we use ajinomoto (sweet white powder found in asian stores) and stir it.

Last add some eggs and scramble it all up and it turns out pretty good over white rice.

I personally love to make a teggie fajita! Get the frozen stir fry veggie mix ( i use the oriental style), firm pre-cubed tofu fry it up in the the skillet, add teriaki and oyster sauce. Once all is done and heated lay in the the center of flour tortias and have a fajita full of fun!..

real cooking is order by real people, live, eat and enjoy.
