Hey there granna2, we sure have missed you as well.  I must admit, I was starting to get concerned about you.  Did you get my e-mail?  If not, let me know here, on this page.  I'll check it often.  Anyways, thanx for the recipes, particularly the "american tacos".  That sound really good, but very simple.  How come you never posted that in say, "Easy weeknight Dinners"?  I bet I'm not the only who thinks that this is a great recipe.  In fact, if you don't mind, I think I'll try your recipe but use B-B-Q fritos.  Glad you're okay and I'm very happy to hear from 'ya!!!  Take care!

P.S-  Have you heard from mittens?  I'm worried about her as well?

Hey chicagosinger im sorry to interupt but my husband came up with a new way to make hamburger meat and im hoping you like it becouse it is my fav and we always do it in Puerto Rico you will need

1lb.of hamburger meat

6 Green peppers hole

Take the hamburger meat and cook in a pan with nothing more than Salt, Pepper,chopped onions when the meat is cooked stuff it in to the pepper and if you want you can cover the top with cheesse put it in the oven and let the chesse melt then take it out and prepare to eat i hope you enjoy.CELTICS

Hi Celtics,  You can 'interupt' anytime you want.  I'm so glad you jumped in and thanks so much for the recipe, it sounds really good.  My husband loves green peppers and I love the red ones, so I'm sure we'll both love it!  When I post for recipe help, I'm hoping for a lot of feedback and ideas.  Even if I get one or two recipes right off the bat, I'll write down all of the recipes that I might get.  Even if there are 20 recipes, I'll write 'em all down.  I just joined in August and I just started my 2nd index card (recipes).  How great is that?  In fact, I probably now have more recipes than my mom or my sisters, who are way better cooks than me.  Usually during the holidays, my job is to stay OUT of the kitchen until it's time to clean up. Yuck!  This year I'll be in there cooking with them!  That's cool!

Hi chicagosinger I must know what other recipeis you have to share I make a dish called a Cheese burger malte I can make it if the receipe is infront of me.  I hope you are enjoying your own cooking as much as I do I hope you all are doing fine and Mittens, Celtics, and Granna2.

P.S. what do you all have to offer as recipies. nothing with letus, tomatos, onions, peppers of anykind, and wasabi.

Hi there! Here are a few ideas I use:

meatball subs with marinara sauce, meatballs coated in flour and spices or just Italian breading, spagetti, cheesburger pie, pizza pie, add ground beef to an inexpensive pizza, chili....that's all I have for now. Let me know if there is anything else for hamburger ideas too! Monique

Ground Beef Casserole

2 lbs ground beef
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and pepper
1 (28 oz) can tomato sauce
1 (4 oz) can diced green chilies
8 oz cream cheese, softened
2 cups sour cream
1 onion, chopped
1 lb egg noodles
3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Crumble and cook beef. Drain grease then stir in garlic, salt, pepper, tomato sauce and chilies. Reduce heat and simmer.
Combine cream cheese, sour cream and onions.
Cook noodles according to pkg directions then drain.
Spray a 9x13 baking dish.
Layer 1/3 of meat sauce, 1/2 of noodles, 1/2 cream cheese mixture then 1/2 of cheese. Cover with 1/3 of meat sauce, remaining noodles, cream cheese, cheese then sauce. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.

This is a Paula Deen recipe and is very good.
Bobby's Goulash 
2 pounds lean ground beef
2 large yellow onions, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
3 cups water
2 (15-ounce) cans tomato sauce
2 (15-ounce) cans diced tomatoes
2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
3 bay leaves
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon House Seasoning, (1 tsp salt, 1 tsp pepper and 1 tsp garlic powder)
1 tablespoon seasoned salt
2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked

In a Dutch oven, saute the ground beef over medium-high heat until no pink remains. Break up the meat while sauteing. Spoon off any grease. Add the onions and garlic to the pot and saute until they are tender, about 5 minutes. Add 3 cups water, along with the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, bay leaves, soy sauce, House Seasoning, and seasoned salt. Stir well. Place a lid on the pot and allow this to cook for 15 to 20 minutes. Add the elbow macaroni, stir well, return the lid to the pot, and simmer for about 30 minutes. Turn off the heat, remove the bay leaves, and allow the mixture to sit about 30 minutes more before serving.  Serve with garlic bread and a salad.

Beef and Hash Brown Casserole

Hamburger Steak

1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1/2 pkg Lipton onion soup mix
1 egg
1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Flour, for dredging
3 tbsp oil

Combine ingredients, except flour and oil. Shape into patties then dredge in flour. Brown patties, both sides, in oil. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Gravy
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 cups milk or water

Add flour, salt and pepper to skillet and stir for 1 minute, scraping up browned bits from pan. Add milk, stirring constantly for several minutes until mixture thickens. Return patties to pan, turning to coat with gravy. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes.

New Age Shepherd's Pie

1 1/2 lbs. ground beef

1 Bag of Tater Tots

1 can of green peas/sweet peas

1 bag of Cheddar Cheese

1 bag of Mozarella Cheese

1 block of Pepper Jack cheese (optional)

Brown ground beef and drain thoroughly.  Spoon into baking dish.  Spread the green peas all over the ground beef, then sprinkle cheeses over peas.  Then lay out tater tots on top of all that.  Then sprinkle remaining cheeses over tater tots and bake for 35 minutes @ 400 degrees.  You got yourself a good meal.

Well hello everyone!  Sorry for not responding mandalore, but I haven't been able sign in until tonight.  For some reason it wouldn't take my password.  I finally requested a new password from BC, and it worked! YEAH !!!!!! 

Anyway, to answer your quetion about recipes, most of the recipes I mention I got from this website.  Betty Crocker has a great search engine, and some awesome recipes.  I've changed a few of them, so if you'd still like those recipes I could go ahead and post one every couple of days or so.  As long as I can sign in, it shouldn't be a problem.  Gosh, I missed everyone!  In case I haven't said it yet, thanks for the kind words about my cat "buster".  Please also say a few prayers for granna2 and her family ion her loss. She's a good person, who was there for me when I needed someone!  I only hope I can repay her at least half as much as she gave to me! G'night!

Another option is cottage or shepherd's pie :)  it's pretty yummy.  Try a search here... I have one that uses hamburger, 2 tsp minced garlic, 1 diced onion, 2 stalks celery (diced), grated carrot (2)... add veg to browned hamburger (1 lb).  Drain extra fat.  Add flour (2 tbsp) Cook over med heat for 2 mins or so.  Add 1 cup beef broth, 2 tsp worchester, 1 tsp paprika, 1/2 tsp thyme and salt and pepper (1/2 tsp of each).  At this point add 2 tbsp tomato paste... if you have none, tomato ketchup works well too.  Cook over med. heat until it thickens up.  Add mixture to a casserole dish.  Top with 1 can of creamed corn.  Then top with Betty Crocker potatoes (both packets or 8 servings)... Add grated cheddar... bake in 350 F oven for 15-20 mins :)  My kids really like this one.  You can double or triple the base and freeze in portions in freezer bags, thaw and add cream corn, potatoes, and cheese as you need it.  It's a good " in the freezer recipe :)

Try making a beef strogonoff using ground beef rather than slices of beef.  (If you need a recipe let me know)
Try a greek dish called Moussaka very good, sort of healthy if you cut back on the creamy topping. And it will use some of the eggplant that is so plentiful now.
Italian wedding soup is good.  When I make it I don't bother making the meat balls I just brown the meat leaving it in chunkier pieces.  I add all the spices you would add to the meat balls directly to the soup.
Stuffed Peppers is a favorite as well as stuffed cabbage.  You can do a variation of stuffed peppers and use zucchini in place of the peppers.

Hey mittens, YES I missed you, not only that I was genuinly worried about you!  I'm so relieved to hear that you were just having problems posting? ( How irritating! )  Seems a little silly being worried about people I've never even met, but there it is!  I think it's because this IS like a community.  Anyway, yes you're right in guessing that I have none of those recipes except for the one with zuchinni.  As a matter of fact, I completely forgot about that one.  Do you want to post that one or can I ?  I will need the recipes for the others except neither of us are big fans of eggplant, can something else replace the eggplant?  It is soooooo good to have you back!  So,    how was your vacation?  Where'd ya go?  What did ya do?  Spill!  Welcome back!

Hi mittens!  I almost forgot, yes I would love the recipe to beef stroganoff, with both meats.  (What cut of beef).  Also, I would love to have recipe for stuffed cabbage, if you don't mind.  By the way,  when you were having problems posting and communicating with us, so was another member and she's having problems again.  Are things okay with you?  I haven't seen anything from you in the last few days.  I hope not, if so , I'll figure a way of disguising my e-male address for you.I'll wait till thursday.  Take care!

Hi CS!  This is my recipe for stuffed cabbage rolls.  I love them!  I usually put them in two pans and freeze one, unbaked.

Golabki (Polish Cabbage Rolls)

1 head cabbage
1/2 cup instant rice
1 onion, chopped fine
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp butter
1 egg
1 lb ground beef
1/2 lb ground pork
Salt and pepper
5 slices bacon
1 large can tomato sauce
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp worchestershire sauce

Remove core from cabbage with sharp knife. Scald the cabbage in boiling water. Remove leaves as they wilt. Cool. Cut out some of the large center rib and halve if leaves are too large.
Cook rice in salted water.
Saute onion and garlic in butter. Combine rice, onions, garlic, egg, meat, salt and pepper, mixing well. Spread each leaf with mixture, fold the two opposite sides in and roll up from end to end. Secure with toothpick.
Place rolls in baking dish, cover with 5 slices of bacon. Combine tomato sauce, sugar and worchestershire sauce and pour over rolls. Bake uncovered for 2 hours at 300 degrees. Baste occassionally.
