bing bang frosting

Ok, here is another for all of you scratch bakers.....bing bang frosting.  Do any of you remember this?  I remember it so fondly as a child, but was never able to get it before my aunt passed away.  Its a white frosting containing flour that is cooked....any ideas??

remember there is always room for dessert

Is this it?

1/2 c. milk
2 1/2 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cook milk and flour until thick, cool and refrigerate. Cream well shortening, sugar, salt and vanilla. Add this creamed mixture to cooked mixture. This frosting remains soft and creamy. Be sure cooked mixture is COLD before adding.
