1970 yellow cake recipe

HI,

As a new bride in 1971 I had a Betty Crocker cookbook, with a red hardcover, not spiral bound. That had some of the best basis recipes, including a yellow tube cake recipe with an orange glaze. Somewhere along the way the book was lost and I have not been able to find another but I cannot get that cake out of my mind.  Does anyone have any idea of what I'm talking about?  I would appreciate any efforts to satisfy this sweet tooth and go back in memory as I was learning the basics with Betty Crocker's help.

Thanks!

I don't know if this is the recipe you are looking for, but I have a 1956 hardcover Betty Crocker book and it does have a yellow chiffon tube cake recipe in it.  It does not call for an orange glaze, but elsewhere in the cookbook is a recipe for orange glaze.  The description of the cake is light as angel food, rich as butter cake.  You can use either cake flour or regular flour.  Let me know if this sounds like it and I will send it to you.

Hi Isagitt, My mom's red B.C. cook book printed 1970, copy right 1969, has the following recipes, but none start with a cake mix, If either is it, I'll post it.1.Orange Chiffon Cake,2.Two-Egg yellow Chiffon Cake,3. Daffodil Cake, all have an orange glaze. Granna2
