Just for fun I decided to "try out" some of the new products BC created that are Gluten Free. We do have guests that visit that require gluten free meals but we have always worked around their requirements. Wow, these dessert products are very good quality ! I do love that they call for butter, my favorite ingredient, and eggs, another favorite ! The finished products were excellent. Now I am off and running before June 30 doing some creative magic in the kitchen. Having fun in the kitchen !

Too bad the bag in the already-small box is only half full.. what a waste of money.. RED MILL is what I'll stick with.. at least you know what you're going to get with their products.

I so agree!  Although the GF Bisquik does make wonderful pancakes, biscuits, etc.  It is tiny and so expensive.  I make my own mix, or get the large bag at my local fresh food market.

Hi Patricia,

I'm new to making desserts or anything that is gluten free but I want to make something for my adult son.  I really wanted to surprise him with some ot the scones made with the Bisquick Gluten free mix.  I was going to aIso order the yellow cake mix  but by the time you add in shipping it's just too expensive for me.

I hoped I could find Bisquick gluten free mix etc in the stores but don't know who sells it or if it's even available.  You said you make some of your own mixs.  Did you get a cook book to learn how to do this? What fresh food markets do you go to?  I'm in CA so maybe they aren't even available here.

Thank you for any advice you can offer!Smile

This is a test

I have a question for all of you GF cooks. Can I utilize all of the fabulous Betty Crocker and Bisquick recipes and use the Gluten free Bisquick? My husband is Gluten Intolerant and we are thrilled to see some great BC products, but I am not sure if I can use all of the old recipes. Can you help??

Thanks!

Hi ReenB!

I hate to be the one to tell you this but the GF Bisquick does not swap evenly with the Original Bisquick.  Check out the GF  Bisquick recipes on this site.  You should be able to find something tasty.  Have a great day!

Thanks for the heads up; I was wondering the same thing myself. I wasn't even aware that Bisquick made a gluten free product until I stumbled across a recipe.

Maybe it's all about location. Where I live the Bisquick is anywhere from 2-4$ cheaper than Red Mill products, depending on what mix I buy. I like the ease and variety Bisquick offers from one box of mix versus Red Mill. And consistently I have far better results with Bisquick.

How about some coupons for your GF products?  We really like the GF pizza recipe on the GF bisquick box! Thanks!

Where can I find out where the Gluten Free Bisquick mix is sold? My grocery store carries the cookie and cake mixes, but not the GF Bisquick mix.

10/27/2011 10:27 AM

Since the store already carries the other mixes, they should have no problem getting in th GF Bisquck; you just need to ask them. If you're looking for it so are others but no one has asked for them to carry it yet.

If you don't want to wait then Amazon.com and gluten freely.com carry it.

Can you use the same recipes for GF Bisquick as you do for regular Bisquick?  If not, can the recipes be altered to fit?

12/22/2011 5:21 PM

No. But there are recipes developed for use with the GF Bisquick.

The stores here do not put the GF Bisquick by the GF cake mixes.  They put it in the baking aisle next to the regular Bisquick.

I would love to try out the GF cake and brownie mixes and the GF Bisquick but I cannot cook with eggs. Have any of these products been tested without using eggs?

Thanks!!

I was doing some things with the GF Hamburger Helper, but I've noticed that it is no longer GF. My son is very disappointed because he loves when there are 'normal' things that he can have and we love when we can tell family members about easy things they can make when he's coming to visit. We were hoping that there would be more GF choices instead of less.
