Headlines of the Week 10/16/09

For two weeks in a row, creative cakes take the prize for most blogged about! The bloggers have been busy showcasing this dessert in many unique ways. The Halloween themes as well as gluten free mixes were popular!

This 16-year-old grew up on the sets of many popular TV cooking shows, and you can already tell she’s well on her way to starring in her own! In honor of Halloween, she chose to create spooky cake pops using Reese’s cereal and Betty Crocker Super Moist Devil’s Food mix.

Pumpkins, spiderwebs and eyeballs make up a thrilling batch of cupcakes in this blog post. Betty Crocker mix and frosting help achieve these amazing designs. But the addition of the Betty Crocker frosting how-to video at the bottom of the page is especially helpful!

This blogger found a recipe in a magazine and was able to easily swap out the cake mix for Betty Crocker GF mix! The result? Heavenly and elegant pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, hold the gluten! YUM!

Mmm chocolate and strawberry…. So decadent! This blogger used the GF chocolate mix, but dressed up her cupcakes with strawberry frosting and fresh strawberries on top! How beautiful and creative.

Betty Crocker GF Yellow Cake mix might just be this blogger’s Thanksgiving dessert! She experimented and converted a pumpkin layer cake topped with a cinnamon sugar crumble into a GF version and was very happy with the results!

When her son requested a 3-D Clone Trooper Helmet Cake for his Star Wars-themed party, this blogger had quite an adventure trying to carve and cover it with fondant! But at least she didn’t have to worry about finding a delicious GF mix. Smile
