I am buying Bisquick instead of biscuit mix, pancake mix, coffeecake mix, etc. It's cheaper to buy one multipurpose baking mix than several, and Bisquick does it all so very well. I suppose doing everything from scratch would be even less expensive, but I need convenience, too, and Bisquick is the happy medium.

I have found that I can make just about anything taste better in a casserole dish by using Bisquick. I have also discovered that i can stretch a baking box mix of just about any variety by adding a cup or two of bisquick and feed twice the people.  A good cake mix for example. I add two cups of Bisquick to a white or yellow cake mix and now I can prepare the cake in one of my fancy cake molds and it was less exoensive than adding another whole boxed mix. I add more liquid or experiment by adding different fruits with their juices, or a variety of different liquid flavorings, or add just fluffed egg whites or one or two more whole eggs, oil, butter whatever I want and I now have a larger, great tasting baked good for less money., but I started with a superb base of a Betty Crocker cake mix.  I can take a Betty Crocker cake mix and add two or three cups of bisquick, some nuts, chocolate, butterscotch, vanilla or whatever flavor chip I want, different candies or whatever I have on hand and create a really great tasting cookie that is chewy on the inside and crispy on the bottom. Bisquick is just fun to experiment with and helps to stretch the grocery budget. i LOVE IT.  Vickie P
