Let's talk brownies!

What do you add to your brownies to make them a hit at your summer get-togethers?

·    Nothing – plain brownies are perfect!
·    Frosting or whipped cream (i.e. Cookies 'n Creme Brownies, Brownie Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Frosting, or Ultimate Turtle Brownies)
·    Bake in nuts or chocolate (i.e. Outrageous Caramel-Fudge Brownies, Indulgent Brownie Torte, or Triple-Chocolate Brownies)
·    Top with fruit (i.e. Brownies with Grilled Fruit, Mocha Brownie Torte with Strawberries, etc)
·    Just decorate like crazy – anything goes!

Please tell us about your brownie recipes and any tips or tricks you swear by!

Always gets requests for my "special" recipe......Stir in nuts to the mix and simply top with semi sweet and white chocolate swirl chips.....remember not to overbake!!!!

I use a cream cheese and powdered topping.

Black Forest Brownies: Make dark chocolate brownies. Ice them with cream cheese icing, dark chocolate icing, or caramel icing. On top: Chilled cherry pie filling, whipped topping.

I stir coarsely chopped walnuts and Junior Mints into the batter and bake as usual in a 13x9"pan. I serve the brownies with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge sauce or a scoop of chocolate pudding with whipped cream and bits of toffee. De-lish!

I added this to our marriage vows in 1967 and again when we renews our vows at 35 years: For better, for worse, but NOT for lunch.

I add some cream cheese on mine.........pour it over the mix when it's ready to be baked and swirl it around with a toothpick before baking.......you won't need to do any frosting or anything else........yumm

Mmm cream cheese frosting; that sounds so good!  A new favorite brownie topping of mine is mini marshmallows and chocolate chips or M&M’s, like this Spring Celebration Brownie: http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes.aspx/spring-celebration-brownies/317e19d7-e33d-4c99-b555-9b06a438309a.  As soon as your warm brownies come out of the oven, sprinkle mini marshmallows and chocolate chips on top and put back in the oven for 3-5 more minutes until the marshmallows and chocolate chips have melted on top and make for an ooey-gooey treat!

HI Cate!

I realize this is an old poll but that's ok.  I'm an old cook with an old recipe for brownies.  I've actually posted this recipe before in other threads but I thought I'd share again.  These are so good it's bad.  Have a great day!

Double Chocolate Bubble Brownies

Ingredients

4 square(s) unsweetened baking chocolate square(s)
1 cup(s) butter
2 Tbsp sugar
  4 large egg(s)
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup(s) all-purpose flour
1/8 tsp table salt
6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
8 oz Jet-Puffed Confections Miniature marshmallows

Instructions

Melt chocolate with butter. Add sugar. Cool mixture. Add eggs, beating in one at a time. Add vanilla, flour and salt. Mix until well blended. Fold in chocolate chips and marshmallows. Pour into greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. The surface will be bubbly from the rising marshmallows. Cut cooled bars into 24 squares.
