Make ahead lasagna?

I am having my family over for dinner this weekend and do not have much time to prep food before they come.  I was planning on making lasagna with the "no cook  lasagna noodles", like I have in the past but I want to make it ahead of time.  Will it work if I make it up the day before and throw it in the oven before they get here?  Or will it mess up the "no cook noodles"? Please help!!

Lasagna is a great make-ahead, refrigerate and bake the next day dish - even with no-boil noodles.

HI JRelo!

If you are worried about the "No-cook" noodles try using regular lasagna noodles but don't cook them.  This is how I make lasagna all the time and the noodles cook up nicely.  They would be more stable to use as a make-ahead dish too.  Be sure to add enough sauce to the pan as they always absorb the sauce.  Happy Holidays!

I've have never used the no cook noodles, but I cook mine, assemble the whole thing, shove it into the fridge and bake one or 2 days later. I just cooked up over 5lbs of ground chuck and made 2 pans using 9 noodles in each lasagna pan. The pans I have are made specifically for lasagna, the exact length of a lasagna noodle and the depth is just right for 3 layers of noodles with lots of cheese and sauce. Also, I've changed from ricotta to Aldi's cottage cheese. It's drier, but not as dry as ricotta.  Mixed with egg and minced fresh parsley, it makes for a much better texture and flavor. I find ricotta a tad too sweet.
