I am a new cook without much time and would like to know if there is a way to convert conventional recipes to use in a crock-pot please.
Converting Recipes To Crock Pot RecipesLiquids don't boil away in a crock pot as in conventional cooking. Usually you'll have more liquid at the end of cooking instead of less, so use about half the recommended amount of liquids. 1 cup of liquid is enough for any recipe unless it contains rice or pasta. If a recipe calls for 2 cans of broth, 1 will do. Cook with lid on. Some steps in the recipes may be deleted. Simply add ingredients to the crock pot, cover and cook. Milk, cream, sour cream and cheese should be added during the last hour because they break down during extended cooking. Condensed soup can be used to replace milk, cream or sour cream in many recipes, as it will not break down. If the recipe says: 15-30 minutes -- 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hrs on High or 4 to 8 hrs on Low 35-55 minutes -- 3 to 4 hrs on High or 6 to 10 hrs on Low 1-3 hrs -- 4 to 6 hrs on High or 8 to 18 hrs on Low High = 300 degrees -- Low = 190 degrees Recipes can be cooked on high the first one or two hours to reduce cooking time, and then turned to low. Because crock pots cook so gently, a few extra hours on low is OK.

The crock pot is such a time saver! Check out these slow cooker recipes also when you get a chance.Though you may not need a recipe-I just wanted to post the two slow cooker pot roasts recipes that we have on here.
Looking forward to reading how it went!

On your computer, you can click on Start, All Programs, Accessories, then choose calculator. Enter the amount then divide by 3.
