Q & A for Betty Crocker Community

Community Guidelines

The Kitchen Do’s:

Respect the kitchen and the people in it. We are a community filled with many types of foodies. It’s a roundtable of unique support, knowledge and experience levels. It’s expected — and encouraged — for people to have different thoughts and opinions. So, please be polite and respectful in your interactions with other members.

Give credit where credit is due. If you are posting a recipe, let us know how you found out about it. Links are helpful if they are available.

Utilize the search function. Before beginning a new topic in the Forums, try searching at the top right of your screen to see if the subject has already been addressed.

Read the content submission agreement: You’ll see it again when you post something, but take the time to read it now before you post. Click here to read it.

The Kitchen Don’t’s:

There will always be sticky situations, but we like to give second chances. So we’ll send you a warning after you step across any of the lines listed below. Sometimes though, violations can result in account termination without warning.

Don’t be rude or inappropriate. The Betty Crocker community is not a place for you to harass, abuse, impersonate or intimidate others. If we receive a valid complaint about your conduct, we’ll send you a warning or terminate your account.

Don’t touch our wallets. Please don’t solicit. If we find you selling products, services or yourself through your posts, we will warn and/or ban you from the site.

DON’T SHOUT. Writing in all capital letters means you're screaming in the digital world. That's not nice.

In Conclusion:

Emily and Cate have posted these guidelines to ensure that everyone within the community has the experience they want. It’s important that you understand the value of moderating your content responsibly. With that in mind, here are two other things we want to address:

Other people (their content, their behavior):
Tone is one of the hardest things to convey online. It sometimes causes miscommunications and hurt feelings. So become familiar with punctuations, similes and graphics.
