Q & A for Betty Crocker Community

Question for CateC, or EmilyD

When I come upon  recipes in the threads that I want to keep, is there anyway to transfer them to my on-line recipe box?  The only thing I know to do now is simply to make a hard copy with my printer and save it in my recipe books in the kitchen, and they are getting unmanageable.  Anyone have suggestions?  A/c, granna2, Eemma?  Hugs

Hi idbayou:

At this time, we don't have that functionality. It is something on my"wish list" that I submitted to the tech team. Until then, this is what I use...

It might be still in beta... but it's a pretty cool online cook book funtion. You can capture any recipe on the net and make your own organizer online. Better than the bookmark thing I was doing awhile back. Might be worth checking out until we get up to speed to adding that functionality.

Sincerely, Cate

You can save them to any word document program you have on your computer. My Windows came with a great word doc program called WordPad. That's where I save mine. It saves a ton of ink and paper, too! All my recipes are in one place and I don't have to be online to access them. It is very easy to do! When I see a recipe I want to save, I highlight and copy it then paste it into WordPad. I have easy, detailed instructions if you need them.

Thanks A/C and CateC for replying. Sorry it has taken so long to get back to both of you.  I checked out the Food.com site but haven't worked with it yet.  I like it and intend to try and use it when I can wrangle a little time out of my schedule.  I like the idea of a single web-based recipe box.  It would be so handy for me when I go to visit relatives and we get together to cook. I still like the idea of Betty Crocker having a function where you can import recipes from anywhere.  Hope maybe that will happen in the future.  Someone here at work also gave me the idea of using my computer as A/C said, but then down loading everything and doing the updates on a pen drive or flash drive.  Very handy, small, and portable.  So I can now handle my problems, thanks to all my friends!!
