Grilling Corn

What is your preferred way to grill corn?  I just throw it on the grill, husk and all.

I pull back the husks and take the Hairs off..Pull the husks back up.. I've soaked it before in water, doesnt matter it still burns..I've cooked it on a fire pit and also the bbq.. good both ways..Even good alittle burned...

I put it on medium to high heat.  Yes, I do turn the corn.  The husk can become burnt-looking, but it acts as an insullation around the corn and protects it from becoming burned.  When it comes time to remove the husk, you have to be careful, because it is really hot on the inside.  The moisture inside of the husk creates steam.  Good luck and enjoy corn season while it lasts!

here is how I grill corn: take reynolds wrap put corn in center and then fold over corn to make a pouch. I then take about 4 cubes of ice and put in pouch with corn. Place on grill medium heat and in about 15 minutes you have the corn.

I leave the husk and all on the corn (you can remove the hair if you prefer) I loosen the husk and soak in water for several hours (this creates steam to help cook the corn). If your burning the corn the heat is too high. When serving leave husk on and just before eating peal husk back (don't remove them) and use the husk as a handle. Lay on the butter and eat up.

I clean the corn and prepare it one of two ways.

1 - rub with a light later of butter (I just rub it in with my hands) and sprinkle with pepper, wrap each piece of corn in tinfoil and put on grill. Our grill has a warmer shelf in the lid, that's where I put the corn. It gets the heat while I cook meat but isn't directly over the heat.

2 - coat with  thin layer of real mayo and then roll in fresh parm. cheese. wrap in tinfoil and place on grill. gives corn a cheesy crust. very good.

I shuck it....I don't like the burned flavor it picks up....then wrap it in foil and grill on the top shelf of the BBQ.....I spray my ear with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray.....to save the calories...

First pull the shucks back and remove all of the silks. Cover the corn in butter, salt and pepper. Pull shucks back up and wrap in aluminum foil. Put on grill at medium heat for 30 minutes and turn 4 times.

I leave it in the husk, trim both ends and remove some husk.  Then wrap in alum. foil; cook 15 min on once side, then 15 on other side. Use rubber gloves to husk after removing from grill (keeps hands from getting burned).

Change what you can and let the rest go.

The best way to grill corn and have everyone go NUTS........soak corn in water (husk and all) overnight or at least 2 hours before cooking. Then wrap in alum. foil and grill for approx.10-15 minutes. The corn steams itself and actually stays nice and hot in the foil if all guests are not eating at the same time. My husband has been doing it this way for years and everyone asks him for his secret corn recipe. ENJOY!

The kitchen table is the heart of the familly
