chocolate chip cookies

i know someone will be able to help me.  i had a 1969 edition of betty crocker cook book.  it got lost in the shuffle of moving, divorce, etc.  this book had my daughters favorite recipe for choc. chip cookies in it.  i have not been able to find it since the book was lost.  i do remember the recipe called for 6 cups of flour, if this clue helps at all.  i would love to find the recipe and make them for my daughter for christmas.

thanks in advance.  i know someone will have this for me.

thanks again

Unfortunately, I was unable to find the 1969 cookbook that you were asking for. I did find the recipe from 1975 cookbook. I hope this will work for you or be somewhat similar.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

2/3 cup shortening
2/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
1 cup chopped nuts
2 packages (6 oz each) semisweet chocolate pieces

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix thoroughly shortening, butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla.  Stir in remaining ingredients. (For a softer, rounder cookie, add 1/2 cup flour)

Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inces apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown. Cool slightly before removing from baking sheet.
