New to the "club" !!!

I am a new member and trying to learn my way around the website.  Meanwhile, I do have a question about making spagetti suace.  Lately mine has been coming out watery and I am at a loss as to why...i saute garlic and shredded carrots and then I add 3 cans of crushed tomates and 1 can of paste.  Can anyone help?

Also, I have a friend whose granddaughter is allergic to dairy and eggs.  I told her I would try to help her with some recipes suitable for a 14 month old. Maybe someone knows of a website that might help??

Thanks everyone

Hello there, bubbieof2.

We're so glad you joined us, and sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Have you had any luck finding recipes for your friend's granddaughter? Unfortunately, we don't really have anything that specifically pertains to those types of allergies, but perhaps you could just Google "food allergy recipes" and see what sites come up. Please let us know if you discover anything helpful, I'm sure some of our members could benefit. Good luck!

With the pasta sauce question- I would add a little tomato paste- that always does the trick for me. Sincerely, CC

I also make homemade spaghetti sauce and found that tomatoes need to be cooked down, or use tomato sauce instead. If you like the chunky sauce, then take the time to slow cook it to cook out the water. Let it simmer until you get the right consistency.

I also had grandchildren with allergies and after talking to a nurse in the Allergist office, I went to the local health food store and they were life savers. They have the cookbooks you need for children/adults with allergies, and have the ingredients to take the place of things they can no longer have.

Good luck.
