I can't find a recipe

For No-bake cookies.  They have oatmeal, peanut butter, and unsweetened chocolate in them.  You heat chocolate, sugar, etc. for about a minute.  Mix in peanut butter, and oatmeal, then drop onto wax paper and let cool.  I saw it here one time but for the life of me I can't find it again.  Thanks.

I think this recipe is older than me, LOL. There are a ton of variations, too. Some use evaporated milk, which I do if I have it on hand but regular milk works, too. Some use 2 cups of sugar but that is a little too sweet to me. Some add coconut, pecans or raisins. Some use 1/2 cup cocoa powder but I'm not a big chocolate fan, so I just use 1/4 cup.

No Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

1 3/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 stick butter
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 cups quick-cooking oats
1/2 cup pecans or coconut, optional

Heat sugar, milk, cocoa, and butter in a saucepan. Stir and bring to a boil. Boil for 1 1/2 minutes then remove from heat. Stir in peanut butter and extract until smooth. Stir in oatmeal and coconut or pecans, mixing well. Drop by spoonfuls on waxed paper and let cool.

These are good no matter what recipe you use. My family loves these and they are so easy. It is fun to be creative with them. You can add a little orange zest or even a little peppermint candy or heath candy, crushed and added last. I have added raisins and pecans, but I think in the end, my personal favorite way is just the original. Although I am considering adding cranraisins one year just to see. Smile

It's funny you mention those. They are the only thing in my life that I loved so much, I made myself sick on them. To this day, I couldn't make them unless I had someone in my family hide them from me. :)
