i thought all of you might get a good laugh, about this. My 84 year old Mother came over this past week to help me make jam. Tuesday we made raspberry and blue berry, but they didn't get very thick. well I thought about contacting Sure-Jell and see if they could give me some ideals why?!?. I was cleaning off the counters, the next morning, and there sit both packages of Sure-Jell, I realised that I hadn't put the Sure-Jell in either batch of jam. My Mom and I both got a really good laugh from that one. The jam did thicken some,It's about half way between syrup and jam,, but the taset is very good, just won't stay on the bread very well,, Granna2 P.S. I sure am glad that I didn't call Sure-Jell and ask that what went wrong,
Granna, that’s sort of like my “ten pound cake” I made. I forgot to put in the baking powder and it was very flat and dense…
Oh no, Granna, I'm sorry that happened, but so glad you can laugh about it! I've done some real doozies, too. LOL It even happens to the pros, so don't feel bad. One chef used salt instead of sugar in a dessert contest on TV recently. You should have seen the judges faces when they took a bite. LOL At least you have some yummy syrup for biscuits and ice cream!
