Gluten free

I love the new gluten free cake, and cookie mixes! Most importantly my 9 year old loves them also. He recently became Gluten intolerant , so our family is adjusting.

I also noticed that Kix, Trix, and Honey Nut Chex, seem to be gluten free also.

Has anyone else looked and do you agree?

I don't know how long your son has been diagnosed so I am not sure what products you may already know about.  That said, I have a brother that was diagnosed with celiac's about 3 years ago. He is a grown man but like all of us "kids" at heart we like the good things in life.  Especially when it comes to food. Go to chex.com and you will find all the cereal's that are gluten free and some good recipe's as well.  Also, go to fritolay.com and that too will give you lots of info about their products that are gluten free.  It's certainly a challenge to change to gluten free but it can be done.  Granted, it's a learning curve but in time you will get use to it.  Good luck !

Chex has several varieties that are gluten free http://www.chex.com/Recipes/GlutenFree.aspx  Even though there's nothing in the ingredient list that is suspicious, GM doesn't call Trix and Kix gluten free cereals like they do the designated Chex cereals.  These cereals may be produced in the same facility and processed on the same equipment as other cereals that contain gluten.  The following link is valuable, as it makes some shopping easier:  http://homepage.mac.com/sholland/celiac/GFfoodlist.pdf

Honestly if you don't have the need to be gluten free your extremely lucky. I have been allergic for five years and it is utterly and completely annoying. When I go to restaurants and order meals I get looked at as if I have four heads. I also miss out on all the real food that people eat. Pizza Chinese Food Donuts Bread and all that other good stuff. I haven't found it to be better for your health, I have gotten worse if anything at all.
