Going broke buying the real thing:(

I am in search for a cheese ball recipe that is similar to the ones I purchase in the convienence store. I understand that they won't be exactly the same but as long as they are similar it has got to be cheaper to make them than buy them. They are about the size of the end of my thumb, soft and very nice cheese texture (also soft) on the inside. Any help is appreciated:)

Cool

I make homemade cheeseballs by using 2 philly cream cheese bricks softened, putting some grated cheddar in between and adding some garlic powder, onion powder, a little basil and sage fresh ground pepper and a little seasoned salt. roll it into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap and refridgerate fo an hour or so. i chop up some walnuts and pecans toast them in the oven and roll the cheese ball in it. Its always the first thing to go at my parties!

I have a recipe that we really enjoy. I think it taste better than store bought.

2 pkgs of cream cheese        2 pkgs of corn beef(the 2 for a $1 in the meat dept) 1/4 C of chopped onions   1/4 C of parsley flakes  1/2 C of shredded cheese  2 T of accent salt  Mix all together in a bowl and form into a ball.  You can make this the night before and put it in the fridge. It gets better with time.  You can also roll it in nuts of your choice. It makes a larger cheese ball than the grocery store sells so you could make 2 .I hope you enjoy it as much as my friends and family do..P.S. you can also form it into whatever shape you want. At Christmas time I like to make a wreath...Valentines Day a heart...
