keeping pasta warm for a buffet

I need a way to keep the vermacelli warm without it getting stuck together.

The best way is to rinse the pasta with hot water after it is cooked to get some of the starch off the pasta, then toss it with a little oil.  The reduced starch and the oil will help it not to stick together as much as it cools.

A buffet steam pan with hot water in the bottom pan and the pasta in the top pan will keep it warm.  The hostess can put a lid (or plastic wrap or foil) on the pan after guests have filled their plates and are eating, then it can be removed when guests want second helpings.
