Too much onion flavor

I made a soup with shrimp, but added too much onion.  Does anyone know what I could add to reduce the onion flavor?  I hate to throw the whole thing out.

Thanks for any advice.

Hey Kristle,
I've done this also. I think the only real options are:

- remove the onions (or a bunch of them) they will continue to add flavor if left in
- to add water/broth
- Cover flavor with different spices - but this is a slippery slope.

Good luck!

Welcome to the Message Boards.

The only other thing I can think of is to double the rest of the ingredients and make a double batch...

Sorry I can't help more.  It's sort of like adding too much salt.  Hard to recover from it any other way.
