graham cracker crust

Greetings Ladies:


I have attempted several times to make a key lime pie with a graham cracker crust.  Every time I try to make it the crust is very tough and hard.  Is there a secret to making a crust with graham crackers so it is soft and chewable or close to the store bought pie shell?  I almost had to grab a hammer the last time as I could not cut the pie with a regular knife.  


Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
