Help! I have lost a recipe!

Recently I moved and I lost a recipe either called Million dollar or Millionaires pie. The ingredients include; drained crushed pineapple and mandarin oranges, sweetened condensed milk, cool whip, pecan pieces, flaked coconut is optional. There may be additional ingredients that I can't think of. It all goes in a graham cracker crust.

The pie is refrigerated and is very rich. Great on a hot afternoon. I once made four of these pies for an event and they were gone in minutes. I need the recipe for a cook-out on June 20th.

Any help is greatly appreciated!  You will be making a lot a people happy Left HugRight Hug

Thank you, Linda

Hi Linda,

I make that pie every now and then and it sure is good.  It calls for:

2 graham cracker crusts

1 can of crushed pineapple (squeezed)

1 can sliced peaches (drained)

1 can mandarin oranges (drained)

1- 8 oz. container Cool Whip

1 can Eagle Brand Condensed Milk

1/2 cup lemon juice or (juice from 3 lemons)

combine all ingredients (except the cracker crusts) in a bowl.  Divide equally into the 2 pie crusts.  Put in refrigerator and chill overnight.

Enjoy, Linda....we do!

Thank you ladies so much for taking the time to reply and so quickly!

Anne from Alabama, your recipe is the one I lost. I can't wait to introduce these pies to my new friends. I know they will enjoy it as much as you and I have!

Grandbuff, I truly hope you find the recipe you are looking for. Sharing our family recipes with our loved ones keeps them close! Maybe you will have the good luck I did.

Charanns, I am absolutely going to try your version of the recipe, it sounds wonderful!

So, once again thank you all for your speedy replies,

Have a wonderful day!

Hi, Anne.  So you don't put in pecans??  Also, your recipe is different from mine in that I don't use the peaches or oranges, but that sounds delicious!  I'm going to make it for July 4th and will probably just have pineapple and oranges but also pecans (1 cup chopped).  Oh yeah, I forgot -- mine also has 1 small can coconut.

I wish I could help - and I will look in my big box of recipes in the morning. I know I have seen that one before.

I, too, have lost a recipe. My children are frantic as they want to make these pancakes for their children and we can't find the index card on which we wrote it down. It included Bisquick flour (which is why I searched the Bisquick web site for it first), lemon yogurt, wheat germ, and we think flax seed as some of the ingredients along with eggs, etc.. To this, the recipe we got added chocolate chips.   We cannot recall All the things that were in it, but our four children, now adults, lived on these and really want to perpetuate the treat for our nine grandchildren.

If anyone out there remembers this recipe, please forward it to me. I will be so appreciative. Grandbuff

Actually, this is still haunting me as no one, no one single person,  replied to this!  Surely someone has heard of this recipe.

I have recalled that it did not have flax seed; it has bran in it. So it was wheat germ, bran, Bisquick Flour, eggs, lemon yogurt, and we cannot recall anything else - but there must have been something else to moisten it with. Then you cooked it on the griddle and added the chocolate chips.  I think my children loved the lemony flavor and the chocolate, but the wheat germ and bran gave it substance and fiber, thus, so health benefits along with the sugar content.

If any of you out there finds this, please let me know. Thanks

Grandbuff,

I could not locate your recipe either, but I may have found a close substitute.

In searching the Internet, I came across this posting for a pancake recipe with similar ingredients.

2 cups flour*

3 T sugar

1/2 cup milk

6 ounces lemon yogurt

2 eggs

2T butter, melted

2 T lemon juice

I also found that you can make your own "bran flour" by food processing (or blending to a fine powder) all-bran cereal. The site also suggested that you use a 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour with each 3/4 cup of bran flour @ cups of flour = 1-1/2 cup of bran flour and 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour).

The bran amount should more than make up for the wheat germ; however, if you want to go with the Bisquick method, I would make it 1 cup of Bisquick with 1 cup of the bran flour. I would add 1 T of the wheat germ and then use this recipe.

Also, you could substitute vegetable oil for the melted butter. That would be one of the items that would be the agent that would enhance the moistness, along with the milk, eggs, and lemon yogurt.
