Need appetizer using Brie

Does anyone have a quick, easy recipe for an appetizer or dip of sorts using Brie?  Something that's not real fancy, but that everyone will eat? I've been asked to make something using Brie for a family function, but I have never even tried Brie since I am not a big cheese lover. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

you can make a beautiful appetizer using puff pastry.  buy a whole wheel of brie.  they are usually about 4 inches in diameter.  also buy a box of puff pastry in the freezer case.  thaw the pastry according to the box directions.  unfold the pastry and place the brie in the center.  you can spread a bit of preserves or whole cranberry sauce on top of the cheese or not.  fold and trim the pastry over the cheese.  use a bit of water to seal pastry.  turn the package over so top is smooth and place on baking sheet.  you can use bits of leftover pastry to decorate top.  bake at tempeerature on box(375?) until pastry is puffed and golden brown.  i serve with apple and pear wedges and crackers.   this really is so easy.  puff pastry is great for making easy things look fancy.

This is too simple....Brie wedge topped with Caramel pecans (the kind used on Ice Cream).   Put on a pretty plate and serve with Ritz or the like....how easy is that?

Another great resource for appetizer recipes is the Pillsbury website.  They have many great Brie recipes that use pastries like crescents to make them extra good!

For a 1 lb. wheel of brie, mix 1/2 cup sliced almonds and 1/4 cup brown sugar.  Cut the top rind off the wheel of brie with a sharp serrated knife.  Place the cheese on a heat proof platter or baking dish and pile the nut/sugar mixture on top.  Bake at 400 degrees about 10 minutes until the top is bubbly and the cheese is runny.  This is great served with thin french bagette slices or water crackers.

A great appetizer that is so easy is a wedge of brie (or camembert) with good quality honey with the comb drizzled over the top. Serve with water crackers or pear slices.

Would you like a cup of tea?

Saw a great one from Paula Deen on Food Network just the other day.  It was on the All-Star Holiday Spirit show.

Sugar and Nut Glazed Brie
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup chopped macadamia nuts or pecans
1 tablespoon brandy
1 (14-ounce) round brie
Apple wedges, for serving
Pear wedges, for serving
2 to 3 tablespoons lemon juice
Crackers, for serving

In a small bowl stir together the sugar, nuts, and brandy. Cover and chill for at least 24 hours or up to 1 week.

Preheat oven to 500 degrees F.

Place the brie on an ovenproof platter or pie plate. Bake for 4 or 5 minutes or until the brie is slightly softened. Spread the sugar mixture in an even layer on top of the warm brie and bake for 2 to 3 minutes longer, or until the sugar melts. Brush the fruit wedges with lemon juice and arrange them around 1 side of the brie. Place crackers around the other side.
