Sams Club Really Dropped The Ball

Will someone at General Mills please tell me where I can find "Betty Crocker Restaurant Style Biscuit Mix"? I bought it at Sams Club for years, but they suddenly just dropped it. The customer service people could only tell me that it had been dropped. Please don't tell me that General Mills no longer makes it. It was the closest thing I have ever found that made really good biscuits. Am I going to have to go back to all that work of making my own form scratch? Help!

You can use the Contact Us link at the bottom of the site to confirm with GM consumer services to see if it is discontinued, or just not in distribution in your area. Thanks!

I am so disappointed that Sams has dropped the biscuit mix.  Please tell me where I can purchase this product.  It would be nice if Betty Crocker provided this in the local stores as a product.  It is the best and easiest I have found. Don't let such a good product fall from distribution.

Thanks

I have bought numerous boxes of the Betty Crocker Restaurant Style Biscuit Mix at Sam's in Little Rock, Arkansas and Monroe, Louisiana.  I made special trips to these stores just to get a new supply of this mix.  I would buy about 6 or 8 boxes and freeze all but one.  It freezes beautiful.  I literally cried the day I drove to Little Rock (over 100 miles for me) to get this just to be told they did not stock it anymore.  I turned around and drove all the way to Monroe, La. (200 miles) and was told the same thing.  I am truly heart broken.  I have cooked all my life (over 50 years) and this is the best product I have ever bought.  I can't believe they discontinued making it because it didn't sell!!! How in the world can we get it back??? Please help.

Well, one thing you can do is to try Costco (Price Club); or, the other thing you might want to try is to make your own biscuit mix by combining all but the WET ingredients and storing it in an airtight container or freezer bag.  You can make multiples of a single-batch recipe; when you measure it out, simply make note of the quantity needed for one batch and andd the appropriate quantity of liquid proportionate to the number of batches you are making.  To simplify, you can also use powdered buttermilk and mix it into your ingredients, then all you need to do is mix in water.

My wife and I really love this product.  We do not have a Costco nearby, just Sams Club.

Any other locations that you can recommend?

Has anyone tried locating the mix at BJs?  Also, look in the Yellow Pages of your phone book for Restaurant Supplies or Restaurant Suppliers.  I've contacted General Mills to ask if they have discontinued the item and will let you know as soon as I hear back from GM.

Hi, HAlbert, I was trying to find out the very same thing about the Betty Crocker Restaurant Syle Biscuit Mix when I stumbled on this web site.  That is the very best product!  Surely they haven't stopped making it!  Thanks to the suggestions of the person who said try Costco or make your own.  Sorry, but we don't have a Costco anywhere near us in Western Kentucky ( it is 25 miles to our Sams) and if I wanted to make my own, I wouldn' be trying to purchase Betty Corker Restuarant Style Mix!  Sure hope General Mills can help us out here.

I see I'm not the only one having withdrawal.  I was hoping that it was just out of stock but after 3 trips and searching online, I see this is not the case.  I don't think I can live without this stuff!!  Hopefully someone will come through for us!

Betty Crocker's Restaurant Style Biscuit Mix is the best ..... This is the second time Sam's carried this mix and dropped it.  They had it in the early to mid 1990's then it disappeared....now this year...same thing.  Please General Mills, make it available to us again as Bisquick Mix is not even close to being as good as the Restaurant Style....   It looks like you have a lot of people that must feel like I do.  Thanks for listening.

Did anyone find where you can purchase the " Betty Crocker Biscuit mix?

11/30/2007 4:06 PM

My entire reason for logging onto the Betty Crocker website is to find the nearest outlet for "Betty Crocker Restaurant Style Buttermilk Biscuit Mix".  I have been purchasing this at Sams Club, also, and one by one, they have discontinued carrying this product.  It is BY FAR the best biscuit mix I have ever used.  I have even given boxes of this mix to friends as a gift. I have used Bisquick when I was out of the other and it is just not as good.  Please tell me you are still producing this product and please let me know how I can purchase some.

I would like to purchase the mix, also.

The sam's in Murfreesboro, TN has stopped carring it.

Can we order it direct?

This was orginally my request regarding Betty Crocker Rest. Buttermilk Biscuit Mix in the big yellow box. Does General Mills still make this?  If so, where and may I order by internet?  Please advise.

Has anyone found out if "Betty Crocker Buttermilk Biscuit Mix" has been discontinued by General Mills or has Sam's just dropped it from their stores. Does General Mills market the same product under another name?
12/17/2007 9:50 PM

HAlbert, I guess we are in the same boat!  I recently went to our Sams Club and could not find the biscuit mix.  I called General Mills / Betty Crocker and they confirmed they discontinued the mix.  Damn!  I totally agree, this mix was the best on the market and was delicious.  So much for big corporations making profit decisions and ignoring their customers.  I am really ticked off about this decision and am going to take it well above some frontline person that try's their best to cover for their inept management.  Donald B.

Has anyone found a biscuit mix that compares to this one?  I was another loyal fan Better Crocker Buttermilk Biscuit Mix.

I contacted General Mills.  The "Betty Crocker Restaurant Style Biscuit Mix" was discontinued by General Mills.  I just got an email from GM saying:

Thank you for contacting General Mills.  We are sorry you encountered so much difficulty in attempting to find the product you were looking for.

Unfortunately, due to lack of sales, this product was discontinued and is no longer available.

We regret any inconvenience this caused and hope you continue to enjoy the many other products we offer.

Sincerely,
