Bread

 

     I recently found an old cookbook that belonged to my mother. I have retired recently and thought I would try to bake some bread like mom used to bake. In the recipe it calls for scalded milk, is this something you still have to do or is this old school with the advent of pasturization?

Yes you will have to scald the milk, but trust me when I say that it will be well worth it!  Even today I still find I have some bread recipes that might seem od fashioned, but everyone who tries them loves them!
