My first pizza dough, help me please

Hello everyone,  so I made my first pizza dough following  the all purpose gold medal recipe. So I set the oven to 425 degrees the place pizza with sauce and toppings 15- 20 minutes; the dough/crust  was little bit burnt and hard, the dough/crust isn't well cooked but the bottom was already burnt. It doesn't look like a pizza crust like the recipe. Can someone help me please.

thank you very much

Hi iriz,

I do cook pizza at home with homemade dough however the only way I can make the dough taste the way it should is I cheat and use a metal pizza pan that has little holes all over it . It was a gift from my husband and son years ago. Now we have two.

I oil the pan , spinkle a little corn meal on the pan , then place the dough. We put the pan on a preheated b-b-q ( heat to 450 )I

close the lid and cook for about 10 min. We love thin crusted crunchy crust  but I would hope it would work for the thicker crust, just takes longer. If you are using an oven I would suggest putting the pizza in the lowest position in the oven at 450.

I had similiar results you had until I had my pizza pans. Cooking is like an experiment.. Good Luck !

Prepare the dough, roll it, brush olive oil on the dough then add sauce and cheese. Place pie in the middle shelf of the oven and try to lower the heat  at 375. It might take a bit longer , but that's ok. Good luck :)
