Looking for Old Betty Crocker Cookbook

Hi, I want to buy my Mom a replacement Betty Crocker cookbook, as hers is falling apart (from much love and use), but I'm looking for the same edition she has, to surprise her.  I found her New and Revised Edition by ISBN on amazon (0307098230), but also noticed there is a hardcover edition (2nd ed).  The hardcover would be better for durability, but is it the same as the spiral bound, (same content, different binding)?  Thanks so much, I really would like to know and figured signing up here was the best way to find out!

Look on Ebay.  I'm sure you'll find it there .

I checked ebay and the cover looks the same, but that's no guarantee.   I guess I'll have to just buy it and hope.  At least ebay has pictures of the covers.  Thanks for the suggestion rose_cox.  Smile

Not sure if it's too late to tell you this, but I thought I ought to at least try.  I work for John Wiley & Sons, publisher of the BC cookbooks and we put out a facsimile edition of the original BC cookbook.  Here is the weblink:

Hope this is helpful!

I have a 1960 's one

my mom is looking for a oatmeal raisin cookie recipe from that cook book 1960.  She finally threw hers out when we got her a new one.  However the new cookbook doesn't have the old recipe in it.  Is there anyway you could look up the recipe for her?  It is a recipe that calls for boiling the raisins.....  Thanks

I have a 1960's Picture Cookbook, but I can't be sure of the date because the title page was lost a while ago. But here is the recipe for Old Fashioned Raisin Cookies from my book. Hope it's the right one!:

1 c. seedless raisins

1 c. water

3/4 cup shortening

1 1/2 cups sugar

2 eggs

1 t. vanilla

2 1/2 cups flour

1/2 t. baking powder

1 t. baking soda

1 t. salt

1 t. cinnamon

1/2 t. cloves

2 cups rolled oats

1/2 cup chopped nuts

Simmer raisins in water over low heat until raisins are plump, 20 to 30 minutes. Drain raisin liquid into measuring cup. Add water to make 1/2 cup. Heat oven to 400. Cream shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in raisin liquid. Blend flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and spices; stir in. Add rolled oats, nuts, and raisins. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls 2" apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 20 minutes. Makes 6 to 7 dozen.

Hello.

I am looking for the original Chicken Divan Recipe.
Apparently it was a 3 layer recipe.  My mom is looking for it.  She has my grandmother's old cookbook but someone ripped that page out of it.

Thanks!!

I hope I am not too late. I just found this forum, anyway, did you try used book stores? They have all kinds of old cookbooks. Good luck!

Hi, I am looking for my also an old betty crocker cookbook with a turkey on the front. Does anyone know where I can find one?

I think the one you're looking for is a 1950's Betty Crocker cook book. I just found one at a used book store. Also there's a remake of it called Betty Crocker Picture Cookbook and you can get it at Target Stores. Hope this helps.
