Gingerbbread pouch mix

I enjoy baking cookies with my nine year old granddaughter at Christmas.  This year I was especially happy to find your new gingerbread pouch mix to baker gingerbread cookies.  However, after we followed directions, mixed and got ready to roll out we found it to be very sticky.  My "old rolled cookie" recipe suggests that it be chilled before rolling out. We chilled it for half hour then we rolled the gingerbread mix out and it worked much better.  I suggest you add this to your new pouches.  We will continue to use your pouches for convenience and goodness.

I love gingerbread cookies, but what I really like gingerbread cake with applesauce on top I think that is the best dessert for christmas.Wink

I was given 2 packages of the Betty Crocker Gingerbread cookie mix.  My family prefers gingerbread cake with whip crean over cookies.  Does anyone know how to use the cookie mix to make a cake instead?  Or maybe even a gingerbread bar type dessert.

I have the same question. I picked up the cookie mix instead of the cake mix by mistake.  I am making a gingerbread triffle, so I thought I could just add a cup of warm water and an extra egg and maybe make it a cake instead of cookie dough. Will this work???

Well I wasn't smart to think of refrigerating the dough before baking and struggled through the sticky mess.  The cookies taste good, but I think BC could add that information to the box for people like me who rarely bake cookies.

I tried te Betty Crocker Gingerbread Cookie Mix (Limited Edition) pouch mix for the first time this year, and it is excellent.  The dough was a bit sticky, but I just floured my pastry board/mat, and floured the rolling pin well--I also floured the mound of dough.  The cookies were EXCELLENT.  Perfect taste, texture, color.  I found this site by trying to locate where I might buy this stuff during the year; apparently it's no longer available.  I think that this recipe is perfect (and easy).
