Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU.  I've been wondering how long it would take for some of the larger companies to catch on that people who have to eat gluten free have to eat that way for LIFE.  You make the products, we'll keep buying them.  Again, thanks, and I'm looking forward to buying them!Big Smile

Thank you very much! Have already started looking for them in the stores and/or asking if stores will carry them.

i was so excited to see the cookie mix on the local grocery shelves this past week.  i bought a box and they are delicious!!!  thank you so much, betty crocker, for branching out into the gluten free world.  for those of us who suffer from celiacs disease, this is truly a day to celebrate.  i can only hope that more companies follow your example.  thanks so much!!!

I've been watching for these for a few weeks now in Seattle and finally found them at Central Market in Mill Creek yesterday.... Of course we bought one of each!  First on the testing block was the Devil's Food cake.  I was a little concerned at the batter as it seemed very 'loose' but with the long baking time, wasn't really concerned about it.  The cake turned out beautifuly!  I decided to go ahead and use a Betty Crocker product for icing as well... figured I should make it a 'true test'!

I was amazed at the texture, flavor and overall appearance of this cake!  It's been about 20 years since I was diagnosed with Celiac and just as long since I've had a cake of this type... that I remembered having when I was young and missed all these years.

Thank You to General Mills for making this happen!  I'm looking forward to trying the rest of the products!!

Me and 3 of my kids have Celiac, along with my mom. I found the mixes in a local Krogers. They only had the yellow cake mix and brownies. I made the cake for my daughters birthday. It tasted WONDERFUL!! Everyone loved it! I haven't tried the brownies yet.

I have to say though that I was dissapointed in the price and the fact that it only makes 1 layer. I have a large family, so we need enough to make 2 layers, or a 9 x 13. That means it costs me about $9 to make 1 cake for my family. I will still use this cake mix when I am in a pinch, but I will have to keep making cakes from scratch for now when I can. If the package at least made 2 layers, it would be a much better value. I hope that one day, this will change and the price will either be lowered or the package will make more.

I am so grateful for Betty Crocker and GM for recognizing the Celiac/gluten-free community! It is a huge deal to us to finally be heard! Thank you so much!!

I'll have to admit, I agree with the above post 100%.  I had wrongly assumed that the pricing would be lower and sighed when I looked over to the 'regular' Betty Crocker cake mixes beside the Gluten Free ones... on sale for '4 FOR $5.00'... while I was left to shell out $4.95 EACH for the Gluten Free mixes I purchased.

I am grateful to General Mills for recognizing the need for these products in the mainstream and filling the void... but will certainly continue to do most of my baking from 'scratch' and use these mixes in 'pinch' situations.

I was so shocked to see another gluten-free products to be on the shelves and hoping to see them in the stores when I go today.  Yes I am aware of buying gluten-free products are very expensive, but us celiac disease people have no choice.  I found out that I have celiac disease on 9/2/08 and had stomach aches for about 4 years.  So going on gluten-free diet saved my life and got my life back!! Smile

THANK YOU !!!!!!!!  I was just walking around Marc's, when I looked up in the cake mixes section, when I saw them.

I bought the brownies, and took them to my brother's house,  I didn't get one of them, I didn't tell anyone that they were Gluten-Free, just to see if they tasted differently than "normal" brownies.

I guess that they were Great.  Thank you again !!!!!!!
