Cookie Mixes as in pans

i have in my hands a package of one of Betty Crocker's cookie mixes ... and I would like to bake it in a 9x9 pan like a bar. What changes do I need to make to adapt this for my needs?

Here is what I have done and it is something I just made up and have not read anywhere, but it has worked for me just great. !

Add 1-2 cups of Bisquick to the mix (depending on how large a pan you are using. if you are using a 9 X 13 pan then 2 cups is the way to go. I have used a 9 X 9 pan with the same amount of ingredients as a 9 X 13, but in a 8 X 8 pan I have added just the one cup of Bisquick and reduced the additional ingredients, that I show below, to half of those amounts.

Use all of the ingredients found on the package PLUS

 add 2 eggs (Beaten)

1/4 cup oil

1/2 stick butter (sofened)

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup milk (Optional and depnding on what it is you are making)

and then whatever flavorings or additions such as friuit, pecans, walnuts , candy chips etc... that you are going to use.

Hope this helps.

I think it would work just fine to mix as directed on the pkg then pat the dough into an 8x8 or 9x9 pan and bake.

I did infact bake the cookiee dough as a pan dessert. Rather than taking 15 minutes or so; it takes about 20 to 25 minutes to bake.

NOW here is why I needed to bake in a square pan ...

Earlier in the day I baked a brownie ... and took that OUT of the pan ...

I went on to bake the cookie (heavily lubercated the pan so it would not stick).  When the cookie was done and that was cooled the brownie goes back on top.  On top of that ... will be going marshmellows, carmel, and nuts.

And what it becomes is a three layer bar that has 3 textures to it.  SMILE looks lkke something I would have baked in my teens - another "killer" dessert!

To bad no-one is around to share this with ...

hi MatrPBK, You can make it that way, by spreading it out in the pan, just bake less time. if you want it to have a browine or cake texture, add a little more milk/water which ever it calls for. Lots of luck, granna2  P.S., I think shes talking about makeing it from scratch?!?
