We appreciate your comments.  Currently General Mills does label in bold on their ingredients when the Top 5 allergens are included: peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, soy, milk products, wheat, fish, and crustaceans.  General Mills also labels for sesame, sunflower, and mollusks.  Please also feel free to contact our staff at General Mills Customer Service. I really appreciate that Better Crocker lists the top allergens since there are so many companies that don't.  The difficult thing for families with allergies to remember which companies lists allergens and which don't because if none are listed we have to assume that the words carmel coloring and flavorings mean dairy...so it would be nice if there are no allergens in the ingredients to maybe write in parenthsis "no allergens".

I agree with you.  My son has a wheat allergy and so many things out there say "dextrose".  Dextrose can, as you know, be derived from corn or wheat.  Sometimes it is even a combo of the two.  To know for certain if it is was dervied from wheat would be a very wonderful thing.  Kudos, though, General Mills for clearly labeling wheat, eggs, soy, dairy and peanut as my son has to be very careful with the amounts of these items he eats as well.

I called about Bisquick this morning because my granddaughter has a peanut and nut allergy.  I was told that  General Mills lables for the common allergens which is great.  I was also told that it labels if there is a possibility the product may include an allergen.  This is valuable information because my grandchild must avoid accidental exposure from being made on the same machine or in the same factory. I asked for a written policy from General Mills and the representative promised to send one.
