Home brew egg noodles

Who likes home-made egg noodles? I have a recipe for all to share. These delightful chewy noodles go very good with your favorite dishes and can be made fast. If your tired of pasta that falls apart when you cook it, then this is the ticket.

The formula is a basic dough, so if you are ready here we go...

2 cups Betty Crocker flour.

1-2 tsp. or more garlic powder..don't be afraid to add a little more it gets cooked away..

3 or more eggs to form a ball

Salt to taste

Mix dry together and add enough eggs to form a ball. Kneed until smooth. If the dough is sticky, add some flour. Cover and refrigerate 1-2 hrs. Roll out on a well floured table until the dough is the thickness of two quarter dollars.

Cut long strips 1 inch wide by 1 inch length...make squares..or cut 1 inch wide by one forth inch long to make skinny noodles..Either way you cut these,'  they will be delicious. Make sure to flour your table to prevent the noodles from sticking..

Cooking..

These can be dropped into slow cooked chicken soup or in a beef combination..Cook them slowly and be careful to watch your fluid levels..... as these babies really soak up the juice.

You can also slow cook them in water for a few minutes then add them to your dish. Either way you cut or cook them,' they will be on your to-do-list when you are looking for something differen't and delectable.

ENJOY..

Hi flourman, that looks like a real good recipe. I just started making noodles and I will try that. One of the things that I do is use boullion powder in place of the salt in the same flavor of the meat that I am cooking with the noodles. That adds a lot of flavor.

Thats a great suggestion granna2..I also use cubes when I'm looking to make something rich. If you have any questions about the noodles, please don't hesitate to ask as I have made alot of these. Right now I'm working on a pasta rack to make home-made shells. When I get it finished I will submit pictures.

I use a recipe very similar to this one, except when I'm in a hurry I drop them in as dumplings with a slowed stewed chicken and a few finely chopped onions, peppers and celery.  They are delicious and my family's favorite.

I like dumplings too. I add some garlic powder, some sugar, ....to my mix. Dumplings are great. Hey Sweet-tea...post your dumpling recipe...

Hi flourman, I finally got to use your recipe for the noodles. It took 5 eggs, maybe mine were smaller. It did make a lotSmile. I used 1 t. of garlic and since I was making chicken and noodles, I used chicken boullion powder instead of salt. They were really good and I liked the recipe. Thanks, AgainSmile

Thanks granna2 for the feed back. You can't beat home made noodles. I bought some semolina flour and made some shells. Once they dried I stuffed them with cheese and layered them with sauce cheese and spice...
