What's your first memory of Bisquick and what's your favorite way to use it?

My mom made dumplings all the time when we were growing up, probably because it was a dollar stretcher for the food budget. We loved the dumplings along with drop biscuits and pancakes she also made with little effort.

My first memory of Bisquick is strawberry shortcake made from the recipie on the box.  It's got that sweet biscuit flavor that goes so much better with strawberries and whipped cream than cake.  Yum!  Glad it's strawberry season!

When strawberries were only available once a year, our family of 6 would have strawberry shortcake suppers using the Bisquick shortcake recipe.  That was the entire supper - all we could eat of strawberry shortcake.  We were the envy of the neighborhood kids.  To this day, it's not real strawberry shortcake unless it is made the Bisquick way!

My first memory is of my mom and me making shortcakes from the strawberry shortcake recipie on the box. I sill make them but I bake them in mini muffin tins so that they are easier to break apart. My whole family loves them.

My first memory of bisquick was my Mama's chicken and dumplings. I can still taste them and i'ts been probably 10-15 yrs. since I have tasted hers. My Sister makes them pretty close, and even my Daddy can come close, but they're not the exact same. I also remember Daddy's Sunday morning pancakes, Yum!!!

Nowadays I like to make the cheddar garlic biscuits or the cheeseburger pie and also the sausage balls, ummm now I'm hungry!!! Great question definitly a trip down memory lane. Thanks!!!

My Mom made shortcakes too. I use Bisquick for bisucits a lot, sometimes for pancakes, but my favorite recipe is for homemade cinnamon rolls, made with yeast.  They are easy to make and soooooooooooo good!

My grandmother always made her fried chicken using Bisquick.  She'd dredge the chicken in Bisquick, brown it in a cast iron skillet, then put it in a roasting pan, add water, cover and bake until it fell off the bone.  Made its own gravy and everything.  She'd make that for us every Sunday, and often made strawberry shortcake too!

Oh yes!  Either my Mom or my Dad would make the shortcake, and then those juicy strawberries from the farm down the street would be loaded on and then some softly whipped cream!  Goodness ...I do think I'll have to make some today.  Thanks for the memory.

I think that my mom made strawberry shortcake also. But my personal memory was from my Aunt-in-Law, when she told me how to make 'homemade" biscuits. She told me to start out with Bisquick and when I could make it without measureing the ingredents to then use her recipe, which she gave me. That was almost 40 years ago and to this day I use her recipe. I have now decided that it's a "family secret recipe"Wink to be handed down to my granddaughter.

The first thing I made was the biscuits.  I made country style sausage gravy with them for my parents and 3 siblings.  I made a double batch and soon found that it wasn't a big enough batch.  Everyone loves them with butter, grape jelly or honey.

I recently found a recipe for Red Lobsters Cheddar Bay Biscuits.  This recipe uses Bisquick and they make awesome biscuits.  My husband told me that mine are better than Red Lobsters(only because I use more garlic)

Hi Boys Club, would you post that recipe for the Red Lobsters Cheddar Bay Biscuits? I tried a recipe, but not as good.  I have made the cinnamon rolls and really like them.

When I was a young married woman, my friends and I used to have those "Impossible Pie" recipes floating around amongst each other and I especially liked the impossible coconut pie.  I would like to have the lemon icebox pie and the coconut pie recipes.  Thanks a bunch!   Nanna ErinYes
