4 year old Betty Crocker Pizza Crust Mix still good

Thought you might find this interesting.  Used two packages of Betty Crocker Pizza Crust Mix today with a better by 12OCT05 date on them.  Wasn't sure how the pizza would turn out, but it was delicious!  I knew it had been a while since I made a pizza, but didn't realize how long until I looked at the date on those packages that were in my cupboard.  Anyway, just thought I would let you all know you don't have to worry about the date on the pizza crust mix.  Granted the crust didn't rise much, but I really didn't expect it to after looking at the date.  It still tasted good.  I ate two slices and put the rest in the freezer for later.

I consider expiration dates to be mere "suggestion", but you are quite adventurous!  I don't think twice before using something that is around 9-12 months out of date, but 4 years????  I am glad it turned out for you, but you might conder using the next rainy day as a pantry clean out day!  Oh, and don't forget about your medicine chest!!  LOL you are awesome!

I will consider your suggestion.  LOL!  When my Mother was living, she and I never looked at dates on food.  My older sisters, and even a niece, would sometimes go through the fridge and cupboards and throw things away.  We thought they were silly for doing it.  I tell folks around here that over the years I have built up an immunity and don't have to worry about getting sick from eating out-of-date food.  Waste not, want not.  People accuse me of being a "fussy" eater because I won't try many "new" things, but I don't have any trouble eating "old" things.  HA! HA!  I am a little more careful about medicine, although I don't buy new until I need to use it.
