Hello, Betty Community!
I've always been a bit of a bookworm, and I have some warm and fuzzy memories of reading growing up. One of my favorite topics, among other things, was, of course, food, and when I'd exhausted my borrowed library books, I would start looking at mom's foodie magazines. Often, reading time was always best accompanied with a snack.
Now that I have my niece, a foodie-in-training, I'm so excited to share my combined love of good eats and good reads! I recently bought her “If You Give a Cat a Cupcake,” by Laura Numeroff, part of the classic, “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” series. I can't wait to read it with her, but in the meantime, I was wondering:
Do you have any great suggestions for children’s books about food? Do you have a favorite?
It also got me thinking of some great food-related Children's books from my childhood. These are classics that I read over and over.
1. “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle
2. “The Berenstain Bears and Too Much Junkfood” by Stan Berenstain and Jan Berenstain
3. “It Looked Like Spilt Milk” by Charles G. Shaw*
4. “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” by Laura Numeroff
5. “Bread and Jam for Frances” by Russell Hoban*
Can you think of any others I need to add to my list? Be sure to share your thoughts on any of the above titles!

*Read often to the kids I used to babysit.
