Cooking & Baking with Kids

From breakfast to dinner and lunchboxes to kid-friendly snacks. How do you keep it fun for kids in the kitchen?

Overweight child with a sweet tooth

Does anyone have recipes for homemade desserts for kids with chocolate that are lower calorie than usual? We already have the jello, low cal snack bars etc, but she wants to help make cookies or brownies at home. She has lost about  5 pounds in the last week and a half, but I can tell she is getting bored with not baking.  (She wants to be a chef when she grows up.)  Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi sillyymom:

Here is a cookbook that could inspire many healthy new meals: Betty Crocker Win At Weight Loss Cookbook. I went to the Kitchens to ask if they talk about this more in-depth... Please look for Jill’s blog. She will be posting about this in the next week. Once the link is live- I will repost here... Sincerely, Cate
