Hi there! This sounds like such a fun contest. What a great way for father and son to bond. Here are a few of our favorite creative cakes:

Microwave Chocolate Brownie in a coffee mug

This makes a delicious brownie in a coffee mug in about a minute.
I used a 1500 watt microwave.

2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 dash salt
4 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (don't use sweetened cocoa, it  doesn't work right)
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour

In a 12 oz coffee mug, add all ingredients and whisk well until mixed. Microwave for 60 to 90 seconds. Center should be slightly molten. Careful not to overcook. Enjoy with a spoon. Careful brownie will be hot.

Those who forget the pasta are condemned to reheat it.

Hi hotline49, I had two thoughts on this, 1.: make a sheet cake, cut in half, slightly freeze both halves, then cut them to look like a body standing, one tall (for the dad), one shorter ( for the son) decorate them to look like boy scouts then place side by side with the arms touching, to look like there holding hands.  2. If your husband was a scout, use a picture of him in his scout uniform and one of your son in his scoot uniform) Put a picture of your husband and son on the cake and decorate with colors and scoot designs. Some bakeries can make an edible immage form your picture. Lots of luck. Let us know, Granna2

I'm probably too late, but here is a great cake\brownie recipe.

1 large box of instant pudding - use vanilla for blondies

1 box of cake mix - again use yellow\white for blondies

1 bag of chocolate chips or whatever kind you prefer

Make pudding as directed then add dry cake mix and chips - mix well.  Pour into cake pan and bake at 350 for about 25 to 30 minutes (until done).  You can top it with icing or cool whip or leave plain.  These are very easy to make, and they are very yummy!
