Hey everyone!

I just wanted to see what people's takes are on organic food? Any specific food or ingredients ya'll like to use? Let me know your thoughts!!

I would like to know just exactly what a city persons definition of "organic" food is. I can tell you that when I visited my great niece in the city and she spent $2.49 on a head of organic lettuce and $1.25 a lb for organic bananas, I nearly had a heart attack. No wonder some folks never have any money or a hearty meal. Having been raised in farm country, I'm quite sure my take on "organic" may very well be quite different than city consumers. One thing for sure, a good bit of "organic" has a distinct aroma.

mmm critical issue right?? well I have talked at school about those things, it´s difficult to take a side, jaja cause I think that foods made of biotecnology resources are just like BATMAN. see we need worldwide food security, not everyone are able to pay for organic food, at least here in mexico is expensive for a regular family. so in one hand this "bad" processed food save people of hunger, because is cheaper, I know it contains chemicals, hormones, medicines, etc which are terrible things. the other hand this food could be contributing to cancer, new diseases, mutatitons this bad side is the price we have to pay of eating it. like batman in cartoons people need him cause he brings peace to the city, but at which cost?? in order to maintain the peace he´s acting like a criminal too.

I definitively prefer organic food, it´s expensive but I have the chance to grow my own vegetables so I use them. try growing in your garden carrots, onions and some garlics, easy to maintain and when you less expect it you have your soup done!

Hi GlamBee12, I suppose that there are benifits to eating organic food, but just what is "organic food"??? It's been proven that not all companies that say their food is organic,is!!! if food unprocessed isn't "organic (natural) what is?? Now I know the debate about fertilizer and pesticides may be very valid, but there are so many other sorces, like city water, that has far more chemicals in it and "ALL" of them added by the Goverment, and yet you hear very little about that!!. My thoughts: Most of it is "a Fad, Hype and GREATLY over priced"!!!! There is a difference between hybrid seed, which will not reproduce, and reproducing seeds, but you don't hear much about that either. I personally don't go out of my way to buy it or eat it and the fews things that I have eaten, I couldn't tell "any" taste difference, other then 'organic tofo" that my husband bought by mistake and the taste was bad!. It had a very musty taste and smelled like rotten hay. Granna2
