Low cholesterol recipes

My boyfriend was just informed that his cholesterol is too high.  So I am looking for easy recipes to help lower it.  We are a family of six so need something to feed all of us.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I know exactly what you mean.  My husband was never sick or anything in the 15 years we have been together and we both got a laser procedure done in July to help us quit smoking, thinking we would save lots of money.  Then the first time he goes to the doc for a boil, they do bloodwork and he has high cholesterol, who knew.  Now the money that we were going to be saving is going into meds and doctor visits and labwork.  Anyhow, to get back to the subject at hand, I have a few awesome sites that might help you out.  They have really good nutritional info on each recipe so you know exactly what you are getting.  Try them out and let me know what you think.

http://www.50plusfriends.com/    Click on the cookbook link and find the low

And this is the other one.  Recipes is over on the left hand side.  There are a lot of good ones there, too.  There is also a wealth of other information on this page that may help you out.  You might want to put it in your favorites or bookmark it.

Amazing isn't it?  The things you find out when you make a decision to do the right thing about your health.

My hubby does not smoke or drink ,but I do smoke quite a bit.  However, when he went to the doctor, he found out that he is diabetic.  So I changed our dining menus around to comply with his new diet.

No such luck.  The man is stubborn and still eating foods that are not a part of his new health regime.  I am trying to bake our chicken and fish meals now, but running out of ideas.

Cooking is a passion of mine and I cook practically anything.  But new ideas to cut cholesterol is getting difficult.  He does not like Cheerios because he does not drink milk.  He will not always use low fat dressings on his salads.

Any suggestions?

Have you used the search bar on the left side when you are typing in recipes. Low cholesterol is an option. For example, for chicken here are the recipes that come up:

No, on each recipe, it breaks down the nutrition information. For example, For this Broccoli-Rice Salad-

1 Serving: Calories 400 (Calories from Fat 110); Total Fat 12g (Saturated Fat 3g, Trans Fat 0g); Cholesterol 5mg; Sodium 640mg; Total Carbohydrate 58g (Dietary Fiber 9g, Sugars 2g); Protein 14Percent Daily Value*: Vitamin A 20%; Vitamin C 100%; Calcium 8%; Iron 25Exchanges: 3 1/2 Starch; 0 Other Carbohydrate; 1 Vegetable; 1/2 Very Lean Meat; 2 Fat Carbohydrate Choices: 4
*Percent Daily Values are based on a 2,000 calorie diet.

Hope this is helpful!
