Easter Recap
by Heidi at Betty Crocker  4/13/2009 12:00:00 PM

Everyone survived Easter. I had enough food. My Breakfast Strudels and bacon were done cooking at the same time and I think everyone left full and relatively happy. I celebrated after the event by taking a two-hour nap.

I made a double batch of the Breakfast Strudel; two braids with ham and two without. Here’s a shot of what the interior of the strudel looks like before it gets wrapped in the puff pastry.

Here’s a shot of the braids wrapped. I baked them on parchment paper and put a “H” to mark the braid with ham in it. I refrigerated the four braids overnight and baked them Easter morning (orange juice is mixed in with the eggs; the Vitamin C helps them keep their color).

This photo is why I make this recipe year after year. Not only does it taste delicious, but it’s mighty impressive to look at.

Of course there was lots of bacon to go 'round.

A shot of the kids’ table. They had been playing a game in which all the zoo animals get loose—thus the masks.
