Last Saturday Luke and AC came over and, after a quick trip to the grocery store, we made dinner together (they are still without a working kitchen). The menu included grilled chicken, green beans and garlic bread. We didn’t use a single recipe (I probably shouldn’t encourage that since my job depends on people needing recipes.)
Luke seasoned the chicken with salt, pepper and garlic before throwing it on the grill. AC sautéed some red onions in oil until they were almost caramelized and then tossed the green beans, along with a splash of Julie’s Dressing (it has endless uses) in a skillet. She cooked the beans until they were crisp-tender and when they were done topped them with crumbled feta.

My job basically involved making a whole bunch of garlic-butter and smearing it on the bread. Then I wrapped the bread in aluminum foil and Luke grilled it along with the chicken

The chicken took a little longer than expected, but it was a great summer meal. The real winner was the green beans. We polished off the bowl and vowed to make them again. Of course, since we didn’t use a recipe, we’ll just have to rely on memory (that’s a subtle plug for using a recipe, in case you didn’t catch it).
