Every year General Mills hosts a Holiday Luncheon. There’s turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, veggies, bread and cookies for dessert. It's quite an orchestrated event. The line for lunch always snakes around the cafeteria hallway. This year it went all the way up the escalator. Despite the number of people involved, the line moves incredibly fast.

Plus, there’s a choir to provide entertainment while we wait.

I look forward to the lunch every year. It’s nice opportunity to get out of my cube, chit-chat with colleagues and really kick off the holiday. The only bad thing is that I desperately want to take a nap afterward.
But that’s most definitely not an option because today is also the annual Holiday Cookie Baking for Courage Center. And, despite the casualness of the event, falling asleep in the cookie dough would be a no-no.
