Impromptu Potato Salad and Brats

My husband has a group of friends and colleagues who get together at our house every month to discuss politics, philosophy and other lofty subjects.  Since it is his gathering, he has been clear that he likes to take care of the arrangements—making food to serve and clutter-busting to make sure our house looks presentable—rather than task me with more chores.  Except this week…I bailed him out.  He texted me that he would be stuck at work indefinitely, but guests would arrive in an hour.  On my way home from work, I stopped at the butcher for brats and charcoal and then at the bakery for rolls.  Easy.
