No wonder Jill's recipes are so easy. She once owned a business that specialized in teaching kids to cook & bake.

Bake a Skookie Pizookie
by jillbcooks  1/6/2010 6:20:00 PM

Now that we are almost a week into the new year, I have had an opportunity to play with some of my holiday presents.  If you read my blog with any regularity, you know that I love all manner of kitchens gadgets and gear.  This year my husband and I received a very fun gift from my two sweet peas of nieces (truly the most cute, clever, fun kids in the whole world, except of course, for yours!).  We received a Skookie gift set.

Now, you may ask, what is a Skookie?  In fact, I know Skookies by a different name, a Pizookie.  Back when I lived in Maryland, my husband and I would often go out for dinner on Wednesday night to a place called Ledo Pizza, since salad, bread and spaghetti (with a sauce I long for now that I live in Minnesota) was $4.99.  Since dinner was so satisfying and reasonably priced, we would sometimes splurge and get a Pizookie—a chocolate chip cookie just slightly underbaked served warm with ice cream and fudge topping.

The other night we used our Skookie-Pizookie pans for the first time.  Here’s the result:

You don’t need a special pan to make this dessert, but the individual size and the cute handle covers do make it special indeed.  I added hot fudge and a touch of peanut butter.

Did you get kitchen gear for Christmas?
