No wonder Jill's recipes are so easy. She once owned a business that specialized in teaching kids to cook & bake.

Cookies Bring People Together

When we moved into our current home last June, we met our neighbors while we were doing yard work and gardening in front of the house.  I’ve chatted only once with our neighbors across the street, a nice couple with a little guy who is about kindergarten aged.  The other evening, our doorbell rang, and I was surprised to see them at the door.  They had baked cookies and were bringing plates to all their neighbors.  What a delight!  I especially loved the glittery red mitten cookie (which was delish when I had it with a cup of tea when editing some recipes later).

They told me they loved the way we decorated the tree in our yard--our homage to Charlie Brown (and our nod to Ralphie in A Christmas Story in the window).

Have you received any surprise cookies?

Jill, That is so cute, I've never watched the 'A Christmas Story", so I don't get the story/ideal of the "leg lamp". However I do 'love" how simple that they decorated the cookies. I've never made roll out sugar cookies or decorated them, it somewhat intimidates me?!?, but that sure makes it look easy. That was also "very nice and neighborly" of them. God Bless and Merry Christmas. Granna2
